3AM UNICORN THOUGHTS OF LETTING GO

LETTING GO.
It's not as easy as letting go of eating an ice cream because you're on a diet. Giving up a fifty percent off shopping spree because you need to pay for your tuition fee; or holding back a night of party to study for your prelim exam in Accountancy. These things are easy to let go because you already know the reasons why you have to; but letting go the love you think you deserve takes a lot of time.
I know that it's difficult to think right when you're emotionally damaged. Emotionally stabbed. You don't need to rush things in order for you to say that you're healed. You don't need to act like you're fine when you know that you're still not. You don't need to seek for the answers right away; it will come. What a cliche. But yes, it takes time. A lot of it, to be exact.
Let go of that day, when you finally said "yes", when you gave him the chance to make you happy and make you cry at the same time because you can never have back that one word which ruined your idea of love. Let go of that first date, when he told you how much you mean to him, the unending "iloveyous", the sweet "good mornings" and heart-warming "take cares' because everything he said has ended. Let go of that picture, where you both look so happy, like no one could break you. Let go of that one message, you still saved on your phone saying how much he loves you and made you believe that it's just you. Let go of that late night walk, when you both witnessed a beautiful luces in the sky. Let go of that food, which you both enjoyed eating together. Let go of that one song on your playlist, which made you cry every time you hear it. Let go of that moment when you knew, with every butterflies in your tummy, that he loved you. Let go of that rainbow you thought you had, because now you know that it's a stormy phase. Let go of the words, when he told you that't he will do everything for you, because at some point he tried, but he never did.
Let go of the last time you let him back in your life and in to your heart after he dumped you sixteen times, because you thought it would bring back the so-called-perfect "US' you once had. And yes, it felt like it did. But it didn't. And most especially, let go of the broken promises you made to your self that you will forget him; that you will move on; that you will unlove him. Because, even the unicorns knew that you can't do it right away. Only time can.
Love may sometimes be won through so many chances, but it can never be won back through it.
